  I had a bad experience here. I was here late and bought a lot of groceries. There was no one at the checkout, and everyone was forced to use the self-checkout. The self-checkout system is just not designed to handle 100+ items. It was very buggy, and took a very long time (30+ minutes). After many items were piled up, it started crapping out and calling the "help" person every 2-3 items, claiming that I removed an item from the bagging area. Also, the person who was supposed to help me, was not really helping. I was tired and late to my next destination.
  
  Also, they only had paper bags with no handles, which made carrying groceries home a disaster. Nobody offered me a reusable bag or any other option.
  
  On the good side, the quality of stuff here is nice.

  City Market is one of two major grocery stores in the Vail area. This is a full size store with everything you need (grocery wise). The prices are about the same as what you would expect to pay anywhere else. The service at the meat, bakery, deli and customer service counters are fast and friendly. Since Vail is considered a "rich" area the clearance section of this store was overflowing with unbelievable deals that just couldn't be passed up. Good place to get grocery items while staying in Vail and or surrounding areas.

  Well laid out grocery store with fresh veggies and meats... flowers, donuts... super pastry section... wonderful selection of cheeses... easy in and out from the parking lot!
